Season is getting close. I've been keeping an eye out and have been spotting quite a few lately. Hopefully this cooler weather sticks around and we have a better season than last year. I remember it was hot last Labor Day weekend. I don't even need to buy any shells cause I have that many left over from last year. I'll be using 'ol reliable; Mossberg 500 12ga and I'm really itching to try the O/U.

Me and 2 buddies went for a couple hours yesterday evening. We didn't slay them but we didn't get skunked either. I took 3 with the O/U and my buddy borrowed my Mossy. At first we didn't have any plans on going because of the potential rain we were supposed to get. I left home around 3 and called one buddy to tell him I was on the way. He got a hold of the other guy who was in Jasper (lives in Newburgh) and he decided to head on up since I had an extra shotgun. The other guy borrowed his brothers. The only down fall was the guy from Newburgh didn't have his dog with him but we managed. We got 9 total.

I had some help cleaning them.

Got out for a little while this evening and went 2 for 3. Could've done a lot more shooting but I had the gopro on my head and the birds were usually out of range by the time I got it turned on. ::)

I'll post the footage if there's anything good.

Good video. I was all set to go today. Had to mow the yard first. Before I got the yard mowed my mom called to remind me of the anniversary party that was taking place today for my aunt and uncle. Completely forgot about that. So needless to say I didn't make it out. Maybe next weekend.
