Chase and me made it over to Bass Lake for a few hours yesterday evening before a storm ran us off. We we're definitely a little rusty on the muskie fishing. Took us forever just to figure out what all we needed and didn't need in the boat. Of course we get on the water I immediately think of the lure retriever that's back at home. I tell Chase that we're getting into some trees and what happens? He makes a half mile cast right into them and we lose a brand new Tackle Industries BootyTail Double #13 Bucktail! That $15 lure lasted us about 5 casts. Oh well, it was my fault for forgetting the retriever. We worked our way to the north side of the pit figuring the wind had moved the baitfish that way and it didn't take long for Chase to get a follow on a chart Guide Dog Call Girl lure. We were hovering over a beaver lodge and the musky just stayed by the boat after the follow. I cast him a chatterfrog and got a follow, but he just wouldn't bite. We thought we had some underwater footage of him, but the water was too stained from the wave action. It hung out for probably 5 minutes before disappearing. It was probably in the low 40's. We fished the area for quite a while when Chase looks up and say's "Holy Crap!" A storm was moving in and we hadn't even noticed. Water temp was 61. Chase took a couple pics with his gopro as we were "racing" back to the ramp.

What kind of lure retriever do you use? I really need to get one. Just watched a video on making your own using spark plugs. I was on sullivan yesterday but the trolling battery ran out of juice before the storm hit.
