Had a blast busting birds today! Looked like it was gonna be a quick hunt the way the feathers were flying early, but then the going got tough for a while. We were still able to get our 8 man limit by 2pm. We shot a lot of footage but I'm just too pooped to do any editing. I did throw together a little clip of how things started off this morning. This was the bird that filled our limit and we probably chased it for a mile and kicked it up 2 or 3 times with the lead flying before the dog finally pounced on him.

the pheasant hunting that weekend is always amazing but they are already about gone now. youd probably have to walk 10-15 of those huge bush fields before you would even kick one up now.

youd probably have to walk 10-15 of those huge bush fields before you would even kick one up now. I wondered about that. I saw where you can take both hens and roosters clear into January, so they must not think they can survive the winter? I bet the hawks have a feast on them things.

Is it a draw to get in on this?

Is it a draw to get in on this? It's a first-come, first-served, reserved hunt. The cost is $15 for 2 birds and you can make reservations on the Indiana DNR website starting September 1st.
