The boys and me were on the river early this morning armed with cut shad and nightcrawlers. We launched on the White in Worthington and went a mile or so up river. Booey came close to getting knocked out by a 20 pound flying carp on the ride up. Scared the crap out of me when it slammed into the outboard. A boat passed us on the way up and it was fishermandan and his brother Chad but I don't think they recognized the new boat. The rivers rising and I thought the fish would be biting, but that wasn't the case. We had 1 run on a shad head and that was it. We had a friendly visit from a CO too. On the way back I turned up the Eel River and we fished a deep hole, but it was snag city and we decided to call it a day. Water temp on the White was 77 and the Eel was 67.

hey troy you was right didnt recognized you guys sorry, fishing wasn"t very good starting out but it picked up later in the day had that friendly visit from co also. we almost made it to freedom before we come back down river. we used nightcrawlers mostly only caught 2 fish on stink bait we didnt get back home until 6 that day we cleaned 18 channels 1 striper 1 flathead lost about 10 lb flathead at boat i think we caught about a dozen drum.the trick is dont waste alot of time in 1 spot keep moving if you dont catch something in 10 to 15 min move.we would catch 2 or 3 fish in spot then move.

Thanks for the report Dan! You guys ever catch any blue cats out of there? That's what we were hoping for. I'd like to get back out soon but my motor quit on me when we were up the Eel and I haven't got it figured out yet. Had to use the trolling motor back to the ramp. The funny thing is that I hardly marked a fish all morning until we were about 15 yards from the ramp. There was about a 13 foot deep hole that had some big fish in it. The trolling motor wasn't strong enough to get us back to it though.
