in my opinion, CVA is the best muzzleloader company. I am really not a fan of Thompson Center Arms at all. Whooooooooooa brian easy I own three Thompson center one Encores 12ga fully rifled slug gun and one 50cal. and a 35 Remington Thompson Contender(better know as a hand cannon) and are very pleased with all of them. One thing about Thompson is there life time warranty,I don't know to much about cva warranties but I do know that they make a good gun but they just are not a Thompson Center Arms. Here's a example of there warranty, when I first bought the muzzle loader the breech plug got stuck in it twice and I sent it in and got it back within a weeks time. The butt stock got cracked I'm noting telling you how the butt stock got broke because I don't think I'll ever get over it and forgive that person, but I called them and they said send it in no questions asked.

Thompson Center makes the best muzzeloaders. I have 4 of em. 2 .45 cal Cherokees, A 12 gauge New Englander and a .54 cal rifle.

Sounds like they have great customer service. Thats something I can't comment on from personal experience. I have handled guns from both companies and just find that I like CVA a lot more. CVA also has great customer service. I was given an old build your own CVA muzzleloader kit from an aunt, but it had no instruction manuals. This gun was from the 60s or 70s and a call to CVA and they were able to get into their archives and send me all the original literature in addition to some other nice muzzleloading guides. All for free and sent out in a week.

WoW...you guys must be sheltered... what about NEF / H & R (now Marlin), Knight, Savage Arms, Sturm-Ruger & Company, and Austin & Halleck?!?! Just to name a Few. TC and CVA are both great brands, but dont put them at the top of the ladder when there are SO MANY other Competitors out there that offer SO MUCH MORE!! J.M.O.

anthonydukes all of the guns manufacturers that you listed are good one but we like the ones we got. I can't own every one out there and I can't say that one is better than the other if it gets the job done. I'm just not going to let someone bash my Thompson Center when all I have had was good come out of them. An I have been to the public gun range enough to see that a cva puts up just as good of a tight group as my TC.

I'm just sayin, I don't see how anyone can say in my opinion, CVA is the best muzzleloader company. when most likely thats one of the FEW brands they have shot. I guess all I'm sayin, is that I would'nt make that statement without first doing some research and compairisons. but to each his own I guess

your right Anthony. I can't make any claims for those other companies that you mentioned. I guess when I first said that CVA was the best, I was only comparing it to Thompson/Center. I should have said that I like CVA better than T/C instead of saying they were the best company becuase I have only shot CVA and T/C muzzleloaders.

Who cares if they bash a company that you use?
I will be trying to get it done with my Bear Element, but if I cannot I will be using my Remington 7600 in .270.
