I'm off for a week starting today and we couldn't decide what to do, we thought about going north to Lake St Clair Micihigan, Lake Michigan, northern Indiana musky lakes, or one of the nearby reservoirs. We ended up picking a campground in southern Indiana called Sycamore Springs Park. www.sycamorespringspark.com/ The best part about this place is it's FREE! I have a buddy who stayed there while caving last summer and he said it was great, they even bring you FREE firewood right to your campsite. The Little Blue River runs along the campground and is suppose to be a decent smallmouth creek. We'll probably try some bank fishing on the Ohio River too and Booey's begging to go to Holiday World, so I guess we'll do that too. Oh, and Bass Pro Shops is just down the road at Clarksville and I'm sure Kim would LOVE to spend a day there!

Thanks for the tips vinny. I'm sure we'll have to make a bait run to Bass Pro and we'll pick some of those up.

We just got back from 2 days at Holiday World. Awesome park! This is one of the best values in the entire state for a family getaway. We had a blast!

We're back a day early from camping. We were having a good time, but the heat was wearing us down and we wanted to beat the storms home. The campground was very cool, I'll post a report on it later. The first evening there we took Kim out for her birthday. We went down to Magnet right on the Ohio River and ate at Betty Ray's Landing. Chase and me got the Betty Ray Burger and MAN were they good! Two patties, two layers of bacon, cheese, onions, tomoatos, lettuce, pickles, oh my! The view was awesome too, we watched barges, boats, and jet skis down on the river as we ate. After we ate we went to Derby to look for a fishin hole. There's a good bank fishing spot at a park right in Derby, Chase and Booey did some casting with no luck. The second day we went to Holiday World. The water park was PACKED, we rode the Wildebeast as soon as the park opened and it was still a hour and twenty minute wait. The third day we went to Bass Pro Shops in Clarksville. On the way we stopped by Leavenworth to check out some more fishin holes. There's a decent bank fishing spot where the Blue River dumps into the Ohio. The view from Leavenworth. When we got back from Bass Pro, Chase started fishing the Little Blue River that runs through the campground with his ZOOM tiny brush hogs. We had been seeing smallies since we arrived, but they were VERY spooky. Finally on this night they were hungry. Chase caught several small ones.... Booey was sticking with the fly rod with no luck.... Chase finally landed a decent one. This 13 incher came out from under a rock to grab the brush hog. That night we tried one of the ponds. Chase and me caught some dink bass and Booey caught this crappie on a white spinner bait. I had some Sonny's out for cats, but didn't get any bites. Our plan was to bank fish the Ohio today, but Momma was ready for home, and you know the saying; "If Momma ain't happy aint nobody happy."
