AHHHH the good ole days... This first video is from WAY back in the day when videos where NOT very main stream. This tune was released in 1981 on an E.P. that i had on cassettes (ask you parents what cassettes are kiddies ) I am sure Greenedog can appreciate this first one. This is prolly the most underrated (and best) of all the "hair bands". Cheesy by todays standards i know...but when this was done the Comadore 64 was the most powerful home computer...for those few that actually had a home computer, the internet was a pipe dream and MTV and cable tv was in its infancy. Now for a live preformance of the same tune

When i run for office this will be my song! (cut off "i remember now" the cartoon at the beginning and "anarchy X" the intro instrumental and leave only "Revolution Calling") Hard to believe this album was released in 1988. The content holds more truth today than it did even then.

a sad day for us old school rockers. Jani Lane, lead singer of Warrant, was found dead. Man these guys really put on a good show back in the day. This is one of the bands myself and my buds road tripped all over the midwest to see in our teens.

Well, friday, the day we learned of the death of Jani Lane, i went out to Pieres for a show. Some years back i was given a ticket to go out to the Shinedown show. The opening group was one i had never heard of before (as is the case so many times at this venue) well they step out on stage and this little 4' nothing dude in dread locks opens his mouth and my mouth dropped open in awe at the sound coming out! That groups name is 10 years. I've been a HUGE fan ever since. Jesses voice was shot this evening, he admitted to it, so i wont dog him. The show was pretty good. The down side is it was back lit...so all you could see of the performers, for the most part, were shadows. I talked with Jesse (lead singer) after the show (one of the many reason i LOVE Pieres is you can typically hang out and drink with the artists) about that issue...he said they will work on that problem for next time around. Heres a couple vid. clips from the show that i shot. As drum solos go, not the greatest. No Mike Portnoy, Sulley Erna, Lars Ulrich, or Alex VanHalen...but not terible for a reformed guitar player on his first tour as a tubsman. Gotta love a place where the lead singer feels comfortable enough to crowd surf. (you'll see Jesse surfing towards the end of the clip!!)10 Years - Beautiful (w/backing vocals by ME! )10 Years - WastelandCrossfade was the second band on stage friday night and IMHO the best of the evening. They really rocked! Crossfade-ColorsI HATE that damn support post! It ALWAYS gets in the way of good film making!!
Crossfade - Cold...The first band up was an "unknown" group from Columbus OH, that call themselves "Downplay". I have to show some love for the up and comers. I think they did a good job. Downplay - Dark On MeDownplay - Let It DieMuch Much more live stuff from this show and others can be found on my page at www.youtube.com/fmj45cal4u Only Blackstone Cherry, Alter Bridge, Downplay, Crossfade and 10 Years are shot with the new camera...the rest were shot with my old camera and the quality is ahhh a little subpar IMHO.

This groupe is a Trio of 2 brothers and their sister. their name is The Band Perry. They've become pretty popular. Thig girl is BEAUTFUL, and she has the voice of and Angel. I think if they can keep puttin out good songs, they'll be HUGE I have actually seen them live. They were a warm up band for a Brad Paisley concert in Eugene, Oregon. It was in the Oregon Ducks basketball arena on campus. But they are a very good trio...

Not sure why....but this song has always made me happy, happy, happy. Been enjoying the airplay that the Darius Rucker version is getting lately.

Thanks for posting Troy! I have loved that song since the very first time I heard it. I too, am happy to hear the local stations playing Darius's version although it's probably my least favorite version of any I've heard. I still like his version though too. Here is my favorite version:
I love Old Crow Medicine Show!
