Heres a little spot down on th eel I like to go to. Over the last few years i have pulled SEVERAL HUNDRED channels out of it. Around 150 just last summer fo my pond. anyways, thought it would be cool if some of us river-fishers would post some river pics. so i'll keep em' comeing every week or so. lets see some of your guys spots and set ups. Looks like a sweet spot anthony! Maybe you'd like some company there sometime? Here's a spot we like to hit a couple times a year; it's a big sandbar where the Eel dumps into the White. I've been fishing that spot since I was a teenager. You used to be able to drive to it, but it was a big partying spot and it's all blocked off now. It's just a short trip up the river from the Worthington ramp though. It sure is a lot cleaner now that you have to take a boat. I've caught a little bit of everything there; channels, flathead, sturgeon, but the last couple years about all we catch are small channels and drum. The big whirlpool that's created by the Eel pouring in has changed over the years. I'm thinking that it's not the big deep hole it used to be. I have seen some HUGE gar there in shallow water. I keep telling Chase to bring the bow. Here's Chase and me fishing this spot back in '08: Here's Booey, Chase, and me last July: And here's the whole crew last July:

I don't really fish rivers that often, but I had a lot of fun fishing this brackish canal behind the condo I stay at when I go to Hilton Head, South Carolina. I have caught eel and redfish. There is a great blue heron in this picture. I had a pretty funny experience with one of these birds trying to eat a fish I was bringing in and getting tangled up in my line. Not to mention it was in the middle of the night, but thats a story for another time.

Well we went down to the Eel river tonight to do some catfishing. Water was a bit high, so it was a lil tuff fightin the current, but we did manage to get 4 channels out. 2 about 3-4 pounds, and 2 around a pound. Sorry bout the quality fellas, batteries in my camera are dead, so i had to use my phone. next one will be better.

I've never caught a fish that was wearing sunglasses and smoking a cig. How did he keep that thing lit? With all the trash you see in our waterways these days, it wouldn't surprise me to catch one wearing sunglasses

nice pictures everybody we fished the eel this week and caught twenty seven cats. they were mainly flatheads and channels but we caught one nice blue. That post talking about hilton head was cool because my aunt lives down there and i go every summer and i have fished in those little lagoons they are fun.
