Went back to my public land "honey hole" this morning and almost had an exact repeat of last years hunt. The only difference was that when I peeked over the top of the ridge after climbing the hill and belly crawling the last 20 yards.......he was gone. 
Not sure if he seen or heard me or just followed a hen off, but he was gone when I reached the top. I'm really wishing I would have shot one of those jakes on my first hunt of the season.
