I can assure you I was not intending to talk negative about the deer. You asked what you thought the deer scored and part of the score is deductions. The point off the right base is going to be a deduction as well as the right g4 and the large difference in the g2. He may push into the 160 gross but will not score that because of deductions. Regardless of score he is a dandy that to me does not look like that old of a deer. I would not hesitate taking the shot if one was presented and hope that you are able to give us an exact measurement in a couple of weeks. Good luck. I respect and appreciate the input, yeah the net score is what goes in the book, but if someone asks me what it scores I tell them the gross because thats the true score of the deer, I hate the deduction part of p & y. Doesn't make since to me. That's not appreciating the total rack of the deer, so if I shoot him and he grosses 173 and nets158, you can bet ill be telling everyone I shot I 173 inch buck. That kicker on the brow is character as far as im concerned

I have been certified to measure deer for over ten years and have put a tape on a ton of deer. Considering he has short ones and is only a nine pointer(main frame 8) it would be difficult for a deer to reach the numbers you have posted. He might surprise me but for me it looks like he would be hard pressed to get to the numbers you think he might. Regardless he is a heck of a deer and would look good on any mans wall. Good luck with him this fall If you look close on the second picture he has a kicker off his brow making him a 10, I had the guy who scores my deer to be entered in the pope and young book tell me the mass, width and hight on his tines could gross him between 165-175, and I go by what he says.

Thats definitely a shooter..lol I would say it would score about 175". Really tall G2 ..what is it like 11"?lol and i dont even wanna make a geuss on how wide he is.. hes every bit of 20-22" wide. Only thing negative are brow tines. But if you pass up a deer like that than you shouldnt even be in the woods Thats excatly what i thought he'd score, only one way to find out!!! And well considering that G2 is basically the length of his neck, im willing to say that tine is aaround 13-14 inches, and his brows are 4-5, i shot a buck that was 22 inch wide last year, and this guy is wider, i guess 24-25 and his bases have to be 6 inches and the whole main beams are just massive, i love living in eastern iowa

yea the camera is on its got 99% of battery bout 2 years old, moultrie Here's a solution, go buy a Cuddeback. A few years ago i got a moultrie and i liked it but the trigger speed of the camera is terriable and its a minute delay, last year i bought a cuddeback capture and i catch deer running full speed the trigget time on the cuddeback is amazing, the picture quality is incredible, and its a 30 second delay and the batteries last much longer.
