Here in Maryland I have been out a ton. I have killed two deer. A doe and a little 3 point (Who was an old deer), Since late October I've seen a 12 point, a 10 point, 8 point, 6 point, two 4 points, and another 3 point. All on the same farm. Unfortunately I have to kill a doe before I can use my bonus buck tag . Gonna try to get my doe tag filled this week or next weekend.

Hey guys! Bow season opened in early September this year, and like last year; I did not get out until late Sept. The word to some up late September for me was SLOW, little to no deer movement. When the calender turned to October I hoped to change that. The first 11 days of October was very frustrating seeing lots of deer but out of range. On top of that I had to retire my Browning compound bow (It was old, cams were worn down, aluminum body was cracking ect.) I had to switch to the Parker Crossbow. So on October 12, I hunted the morning and saw no deer. It was right around 45 degrees and the wind was whipping that morning. So I figured I would wait until the afternoon. I got into my stand at 3:30 (a little later than I wanted to but I had to work 11-3) and around 3:40 I had a good size doe all alone 7 yards away from my stand. I decided I would wait 10 min to make sure she did not have a little one with her, which she did not. NAILED HER!! she ran 50 yards and crashed. Lung shot her. Then yesterday 10/29 I got home from school went back by the box blind pulled the camera and took a look. We had 4 bucks on cam (None were big) but there was a buck little 3 point who stuck out. He had moles/blisters/ulcers on his face. This was a concern to my dad and I so we talked it over and after looking at body size we decided we would take his genes out of the heard. I got out around 4:45 after finishing some homework. At 5:40 He came in, presented me a shot and I smoked him too he ran 15 yards and dropped. We got him checked out and it was determined that the moles/blisters/ulcers were something given to him through genes. It was a good thing we got him out of here. Any way meet is meet. (You can see one of the big ulcers in the picture right under his eye. Thanks for reading guys and good luck as the rut kicks in!

So you have a bow and your just lookin for a new one? or is this your first bow? I would look at Parker bows for a good bow for the money. Either Parker or Mathews misson bows would be better i would say. Also you might want to make sure you are getting the right draw length, 28" seems awful long to me. Im almost 6ft tall and i only pull 26" I would probly be better off with 26.5 but im not gonna buy a new cam to get an extra half inch. You are wayy better off with a draw length too short than too long. If you have even been slapped on the wrist with your bowstring then your shootin too long of DL. And also before I got a mathews i was looking into the Diamond bows which are not too expensive for a nice bow. I was looking into the Iceman and i think one was called black Ice?? idk i think they were like $500 maybe a lil more I miss calculated my Draw Length lol I should be around 26 or so. And I have a bow but the DW only goes to 50 and I need more. I need to be closer to 60 if not right on 60. I am looking into mathews to as well. And with the wrist thing... yeah it hurt too.

Well... Completely whiffed with my muzzle loader this morning! 25 yards! Wide open and perfect broadside shot! I rushed the shot though! So frustrating I am about done with these open sights on my muzzle loader!

I have killed 2 deer with a crossbow and have never shot at one with a compound. This evening I went out and said "brown n' down tonight I start baseball tomorrow probably my last chance to get out for a long while." I brought my compound out and next thing ya know 20 min into it a deer comes it was small not too big and I said "Hey, it's my last shot let's end on a good note." I draw and smoke what I thought was a doe. I hear it crash walk up to it turn it over to check it out and button buck. I am not mad about the size and the shot placement it was just that it was a button buck. I got it all on video to so video will be posted soon. In the end I put some more meat in the freezer!
