Bowfisher33- I've not tried the Ky Dams yet or Lake Barkley, but I would like to try it some time. Been down on the Ohio a few times and got some good ones in, Hope to make it back down there to the Ohio again a few times this year.

You can, I don't know what kind of drag it will have on the arrow, I see that Bohning has come out with a Carp-ivore rest which is very similar. What you need to keep in mind is that your safety slide will be in front of your rest, it doesn't go thru it. Your arrow needs to be knocked high, not at a -0- like in deer hunting, they say anywhere between 1/8" to as high as 3/8" high on knock point, that is because the refraction of the water.
Let me know what you come up with, I'm on the south side of Indy.

Thanks Troy Pictures of the last 2 are a Mere Carp, that I shot up at Prairie Creek last year, I know it looks like it has a problem, but that is just the way the scales are, none are uniform in size.

Well for sure it is going to be a problem, I run the premium in the boat for easier starts and it doesn't seem to bog down and I'm sure it will be $5+ for that.
This just means it will be a full day venture and even a night of camping in a tent for a second day adventure if needed.
Forget those long hauls down to the Ohio river a couple times a month, it will be more like 1 time a month now.
It hurt today just going from Indy to Fort Wayne and back, I about had a stroke!

B-rad
if you have a problem with your set up, after you have it checked, let me know, I've set my system up, Andrews, my son's and I'll be honest, not a lot of bow shops know how to set up a bowfishing rig, they are different than a hunting set up.
if you can't get it figured out, we can set a time to hook up and I can see what I can do for you, either meet somewhere in the middle or if you wanted to come up to the fire house when I'm on duty.
Let me know.

Troy-
If you are looking at a good set up, I would suggest the PSE Nova in the 40lb, I personally shoot the Browning (before they sold to PSE) Barracuda and that at 40lbs is a HARD hitting bow, something that is needed for the big grassies.
Here is a video that Andrew and I put together along with some other clips from last year.
I know I am ready to go out and start up for the year on shooting these things!!!
