In the past month I have gone fishing twice in otter creek which is a few miles north of where I live. It is a great time. I use an ultralight pole and reel with a black twister tail grub or a white tube. Between the two times ive went ive caught lots of sunfish (bluegill, green sunfish, longear sunfish), largemouth bass, crappie, spotted bass, and smallmouth bass. Sometimes creeks are overlooked but they can actually a very diverse and fun place to fish.

i have caught goldeye before and we always go catfishing on a sandbar right down the river from the worthington access ramp. People who are fishing there always have stringers of them, skipjack, and one time when we came up they had caught a pirahna looking thing that was probably released from a fish tank

i have a cabin on the walnut creek right next to the huffman bridge and i have caught a few bass by our cabin but i have heard of people having good luck with smallies in some places. Depending on how much rain we have had i would say that the average depth is shin to thigh deep with some deep holes. some places are more like waste deep but very managable.

Every year we take a trip to bridgeton to fish in racoon creek right below the damn. THis year the fishing was particularly good. Not only did we catch lots of fish we caught a huge variety including smallmouth, largemouth, drum, carp, suckers, channel cats, tons of crappie, various varieties of sunfish, and my first walleye . Unfortunately we had no waterproof cameras while in the creek so there were only a few pictures. I will try to post them if i can. But all in all it was an awesome time and i would encourage anyone to go there and fish. Its just fun because you catch so many fish that you never get a chance to catch at least around where i live.
