I have one and like it. I use it on a gravel pit up here. I got mine through Bass Pro. Be sure to get a good pair of flippers. The kind that strap on your feet. I wear neoprene stocking foot waders during the spring and fall and shorts during the summer. Takes a little getting used to when moving, but easy to use when you get the hang of it. Nice and quiet too and good exercise.

Those look really good. I'm really interested in those #5. That's the size I use the most on the Joe.

Well things didn't go as planned. My buddy woke up late so we got on the water an hour later than planned. Got on the river and the first thing I notice is that there is hardly anybody fishing. Started in a spot where my buddy has had good success in the past and worked the area pretty good without any results. Went to a couple of my go to spots and all I got was a follow. After 6 hours on the river with just a follow, we packed the boat up and redeemed ourselves on a local lake jigging crappie and white bass. The G&G spinners looked great and felt pretty good. It was just a bad day on the river. Seems like it's a "first light bite" lately and we missed first light by an hour lol! Next time I'm going to wade cause I never do worth a crap in his boat when we steelhead. Must be a control thing lol!

Looks like you had a good year, but it's not over with yet. Unless you don't ice fish. I'm sure Mike would be more than happy to get you out. For that matter I would be more than happy to get you out on the ice this year. The only thing you would need is warm clothes and boots. I've got everything else, even a extra flasher.

I just received my steelhead spinners from G&G today. These are some real quality looking baits. Great craftsmanship, George! Looking forward to using them on the St. Joe this Sunday. Will report back later and let everyone know how they preform. I've got a real good feeling about these lures.

here is my latest I am still searching for some red beads that are not translucent. But this is what I will roll with for now. left to right: lime green, white, skunk tail, red, and pearl. I really like the looks of the lime green, red and the pearl. I like the look of the skunk one also. Can you make the skunk one with either a pink or orange blade?

I'm going to have to get some of your steelhead spinners sometime. Do you have any with a red blade or red skirts or any combo with red. I am going to work up some new colors this weekend and I will have some of those colors. I will report back with pics here. I am waiting on a few componets. I should get them by the weekend. thanks That would be great. Heard through the grapevine that red has been a good color this year for steel. Trouble is the guy I get my spinnners from doesn't have that color available to the public yet lol!

I do like the looks of those spinners. My buddy luvndabeers has some. I think he's even got a hookup on one of them. If there following and not taking, maybe you need to downsize a little. Does G&G make a smaller version? I bet when the water cools down more they'll take the larger one.

My son Jack comes up to me this afternoon and wanted to go fishing. I didn't think we would do any good, do to the bluebird skys. But what the heck, so we loaded up the truck and went anyways. We went to a local lake and started casting thumper jigs and he landed a decent bass right off the bat. A little later he says he's got another one and says "it's a big one dad, oh man!" So I walk over by him and see his ultra lite is bent pretty good and think it's just another bass, until it finally comes to the surface and see those marble eyes starring at me. He worked it like a champ! All I did was take the hook out for him he did all the rest. I'm super proud of him to say the least! It ended up being 18-/12" and after a quick pick we released him to get bigger.

Here's another tactic that works for me up here. Take your ice fishing sonar (sorry, forget which one you have) and use that over the side of your boat. I usually wrap my transducer cord a few times around a boat oar to keep it stationary in the water. My friends use a wood slat with a notch in the end to hang there transducer. They hold the slat on the boat with a small c-clamp. Since the water is stained I would use a chartreuse #5 jiggin rap. I like to use a short ultra light rod when doing this. I prefer rods under 5 foot when doing this. Open water ice fishin at it's best! When you use this tactic wind is your enemy lol. I would concentrate on some deeper water around any kind of contour changes.
