They shouldn't rate them as years scale like a traditional rain event. It's a freaking hurricane.

Sounds like a wastewater treatment plant and sewers would do wonders for that area. Is there potable waterline?

Nice slab, Troy. I need to get a place down there before real estate is completely unavailable!

HughesNet is a bunch better now, believe it or not. I'm in an internet desert a half mile from Greenwood, just because no one will run a line down my road and I cant hit the local microwave antenna. I can't rely on Verizon for hot spot constantly with my home business. Much better than when I had them 20 years ago. Video streams fine, just that 3 second latency to bounce of the satellite. Speeds are good. They can't watch videos on YouTube or anything on Netflix due to the buffering being so bad. I have done a speed test when hooked up to their router and it is usually less than 20 mbps download. No idea then. I got gen4 a year ago it has been flawless for the most part. Maybe dumb down the hd settings on the vids or upgrade equipment. They will usually work with you.

What do you guys have out in the sticks that isn't HughesNet? That's what my folks got when they moved to my grandma's house and it is pretty terrible. You can barely watch a video on YouTube for all the buffering. We had HughesNet, which was terrible. Our home phone is through Frontier and they started offering high speed internet. It's way better than the satellite internet when it's working. We now even have Netflix! Lol Ours just came back on a few minutes ago so hopefully I can get my video uploaded tonight. Nice job, GPM! Greene was loaded up this year. Hopefully an easy winter and some of those two year olds will be tanks next year. I know where a few are!
