I would have to say its a warmaouth i compared it to a pic a rock bass and a warmouth and it looks more like a warmouth than a bass

Definatly a Warmouth. Ive caught each of them and I looked at pictures on google and I'd say you released a state record Chase

I put this on a nother post so here it is again
World Record: 2 lbs. 7 ounces, Fl.
Indiana 1 lbs 4 oz North Dugger Pit Jack Tolbert 2002
I think you should have got the LB on it. I think it might or whould go past the 1lbs 4 oz.

even though I have never caught a warmouth, it definitely looks like the pictures on google. The idea that it might be a hybrid is interesting too.

This is a Massive Warmouth Bass. I just caught my last one and largest one the other week. On story lake, just west of Hamilton Lake in Ashley IN. I caught to there. Both Way smaller than that. Then We went to Hamilton Lake and My Girlfriends step dad caught one larger than mine, about 8 inches long but still not as big as that! Here is the picture of the one I caught. i1012.photobucket.com/albums/af245/Zach_Luebke/PHOT0469.jpg

releasing a record fish without knowing its a record is better than losing a fish that you think is a record.
