Took Esau fishing at his great-grandma’s for the first time today. We stopped at The Old School Trading Post to get some crickets and bee moths. When we walked in the door Esau wanted to see the minnows, so we walked by the tanks. He saw the goldfish and was enamored with those. Esau helped the owner’s wife fill our cricket bucket and the owner let him pick out a couple of rubber worms from the bargain bin. He really enjoyed his first trip to the bait shop. We loaded up and headed to Great Mamaw’s house. We visited with her a bit and then headed to the dock. I knew there was a gill bedding area within easy casting distance of the dock. We started using crickets and the bobber was going under as soon as it hit the water. Esau caught 8-10 fish before he said he was hot and tired, so we made our way to the house. We took a walk to check out my clover plot and Esau found a turkey feather. Here’s a nice redear Esau caught... Here’s one of the gills he caught...

Way to go Esau! Awesome catches and sounds like a fun trip to the bait shop. You're doing a great job Dad.
