Gail and me hit a local pit again this evening. It was a little cool and windy, and then the rain started right when we launched. We were hoping for some gills to fry up and were using worms without much luck. We finally decided to throw in the towel and were headed back to the ramp while pulling a couple jigs when the bite finally heated up. Ended up catching a dozen keepers and a crappie by trolling jigs just fast enough to keep them off the bottom.
We tried again for a little while last night down the road at Midland Lake in Hillenbrand FWA. The weather was much nicer, but the fish weren't cooperating. The rainbow trout were jumping up out of the water and I thought for sure we'd hook into some, but we only managed 1 crappie.
