For me anyways. Getting ready to load my stuff up and hopefully bust some doves. Cleaned the O/U and SxS last night. Bought that SxS last November and still haven't shot it. I'll change that today.

Me and some friends went to goosepond on opening morning and shot some, but I didnt do very good, only killed 2 and knocked feathers of some others. Doves everywhere but they werent coming close enough for my modified choke, and with the steel shot I dont think my gun was holding a very tight pattern. Burnt up two boxes in no time. Also went behind the house tonight to my "private dove field", I walked up and I swear there had to of been 20+ doves take off out of there in one spot, and i havent even mowed anything down yet. Ended up with one and missed a few others, I didnt hunt very long though, just checking things out. I figured soe of you guys on here might be dove hunting at goosepond since y'all always talk about the place.

Got a call from my old buddy "Yoteslayer" last night with an invite to hunt the corn silage field that we hunted years ago. Hoping for lots of action in the morning!! Here's a video from the last time we were there....should be even more action on a freshly picked field in the morning.

Been out 3 times so far and only put 2 on the ground. Missed a few but Sunday is probably the only day where I at least seen a "limit" of doves that weren't sitting on the power lines.

My dove hunt got switched to last Sunday and I wasn't able to get up after the goat smoking party Saturday night. We're gonna try it next weekend. Yesterday evening I went behind the house hunting squirrels with the 410 and saw one but it was too far off. Heard some doves hitting the sunflowers, so went home and switched guns. Kicked 6 out of the sunflowers when setting up the decoys and then saw 9 flying during my sit, but they were all too far away. I'm honestly wondering if the mojo isn't scaring them away??

I'd like to get a mojo I just never seem to make time to go buy one. I know one thing that didn't help was the SxS. To use to the O/U with one trigger. I know I double pulled the front trigger a couple times with the SxS. Doh!

Late season starts this Saturday and runs till Jan. 11. Anybody going to try? I would like to since I didn't have a lot of luck in the early season.

If I can find some birds I will. Rode the ranger around the other day looking and didn't see 1. The milo is about gone and the sunflowers have been gone a long time, but hopefully they'll still be hitting the picked corn. I'm hoping the ones that roost in our front yard show up before the end of season this year.
