I hit one of the local creeks this morning. Starting out I couldn't buy a bite. I tossed about everything in my bag at 'em, but nothing was doing. I finally got a goog to bite on a jerk bait. I was to the point where I was ready to go, but decided I'd go back and toss the jerk bait where I started. I hooked into a dink smallie, but it popped off when I went to lift it out of the water. I wound up hooking into the same fish three times. The first time I lost it at my feet, the second time it spit the lure back at me and the third time I brought it to hand... It was my personal best in that creek, so I went home happy. I'll get a video together and get that posted. It was also the first smallie I caught with my new St. Croix rod. That thing is sweet.

Hey goosepondmonster I have been fishin that creek for almost 20 years there are some pigs in there. I'm pretty sure that fish was guarding fry.I saw a coulple good ones in that area a couple days before you.I dont know how far down stream you go but there are some good pools down stream.I mainly throw a wacky rig in that creek but have caught them on anything but a tube.Cant get one to eat a tube so i dont even jack with bringing them any more.My PB is a little over 4 lbs in that creek.Best day was 8 fish in the 2.5-3 lbs.Dead of summer is the best bite in the heat of the day.
