Had to take a day off to attend to some business this morning, then had the afternoon free to do as I pleased. Went down to the Goose Pond to try for some of those big crappie I've been hearing about, but the wind was crazy there and it wasn't much fun and I never had a bite. Went up the road to Airline and went 0 for 2 on the trout, missed 1 on a rooster tail and this one on the powerbait got off as I was netting it...
Sure was a nice day and the mushroom hunters were out in the forest...probably what I should have been doing.
How long into the spring/summer have you guys caught stocked trout ?
I was gonna try and sneak over for a couple hours to Midland Lake this weekend (too dang busy with other stuff this weekend to get much more than a couple hours) and try it.
I am pretty sure they live year round in a few places they get or got stocked (Island Pit for example) but I wouldn't think they be biting much once the surface heats up. Anybody have success in June in a normal year or all y'all too busy chasing warm water species that you haven't even tried?
