Welcome to the board Jared. Troy, that kayak looks awesome. One thing I don't care for on that kayak is that I would be afraid to take something that nice on some of the streams I take mine down now. Great for lakes i bet, looks comfy. I buying a new landing net for the big cats, does that count as new haha

That is a lot for a rod, but then again I think people buying brand new vehicles is crazy as well. Or $500 golf clubs. The way I look at it is like this: I love to fish more than anything else basically, so as much as I do, why not get something nice that will last instead of a "buy it to throw it away" type of rod right? I hope you enjoy it as am I looking forward to my new gear.

It should also be noted that I looked into getting a St. Croix rod, but decided to opt for a different one that I can't wait to try out in the coming weeks. It however, is an ultra lite.

Thanks jsanders. I am looking forward to it as well. If any of you guys get a chance I also manage a page on FB called "Greene County Outdoors" that I am trying to get going. Feel free to like it and add pictures. Worth a few minutes of your time. Thanks again guys!

My last set of clubs was $600+ but I've had them since '03. Love my Callaway's. I'd like to upgrade but I can't bring myself to part with them.

^ That is a nice rod. I did forget that I ordered a Do-It No-Snag Mold for 1, 1.5 and 2 oz sinkers from Bottom Dwellers. Just came in yesterday. It was $43 on the every site I went to, even from Do-It.com. Bottom Dwellers was $27.50. I definitly lost more than $27 in sinkers last year due to snags on the Eel River and Cagles Mill tail waters. Now I need to find soft lead at a good price. I collected 3 20oz coffee cups of deformed lead sinkers at Cecil Hardens tail water, time to start casting sinkers.
