The good old days....thanks for sharing! I haven't sold any fur in 30 years. Are any of those prices even close to today's prices? I'm guessing maybe the 'rats and mink are close to the same, but I doubt that coons will ever bring that again.

My first thought was "muskrat".

My first thought was "muskrat". Ahhh, that makes sense. Had a hard time trying to figure out what a common rat's fur would be good for. I have also never seen a gray fox here in Indiana. Not saying they do not live here, my grandfather used to get them in his traps in Parke County. I would like to see one though.

Coming in from turkey hunting one evening this spring I had one in the barn lot. I dropped to my belly and started doing some rodent calls to it. It slipped off into the briars down this slope from me. I kept getting my calls quieter and quieter. Nothing happened. I peaked through the grass and there it was looking back at me. That was truly awesome. I believe they raise pups in the pines behind my house every year.
Grays are here, I think they like the brush more than the reds. Coyotes don't help matters any.

Found another receipt. I also found 3 of mine from 83 and 84 and the prices were already taking a crap.
