Hope you know what is safe to eat. Cool though. Im going to refer to you as the mushroom man...people will wonder I'm sure. But on a second note, I can't watch any of your vids, keeps telling the video is unavailable and that's all of them for me.

Another good video. I couldn't believe how much those things blossomed since your squirrel hunt. I'd be curious if they keep growing.
I'll have to keep my eye peeled, I'm curious and would like to taste this fungus.

I'd be curious if they keep growing. Me too. I should be able to see that log from one of our stands and will keep you updated.

I used my phone. Usually works. It worked on the laptop.

Found another "chicken" today at Shakamak. I didn't harvest any of it because it had started to dry out. It appeared at first to be growing out of the ground, but the ground was actually covered with decaying oak.

Seen the remains of what looked like a "chicken" at Monty's yesterday. I'll have to stop by there next fall on the way home from work. Lots of good logs and stumps there.

Leaves of 3, leave them be. Is the hen of the woods edible?

I hate to burst your bubble but hen of the woods is grayish-brown in color. This is not a hen. However, it may chicken of the woods depending on where you found it. It appears to be growing on the ground but maybe there is wood under the layer of leaves. Chicken of the woods only grows on wood. The other problem is I believe it may be too early in the year for chickens . If it is growing on the ground then I am stymied. It's very pretty though!

It is growing at the base of the stump shown in the upper right. No bubble bursting, lol I didn't want to pick it anyway. Not sure what else it could be honestly.

Lucky you! I'm just like your brother when it comes to poison ivy. I've had some nasty outbreaks from it!
