After a couple years of Doug always inviting me to fish on days I had to work....I finally fished with Raisin Striper today! No luck netting any shad, so we trolled around with shiners all morning with no luck other than a dink crappie. In the afternoon we met up with a buddy of Doug's who had procured some bait....some bigger shiners, a few gills, and 1 lone shad. Now we had 4 people in the boat and could put out a nice spread. Within minutes the down rod with the shad bent down and it was fish on...a chunky little 3 pound wiper. We were pretty happy until we realized that was our lone shad. Guess that's what they wanted because we pulled around shiners and gills the rest the day with barely a nibble other than 1 small largemouth. If I thought that 3 pounder was going to be the only one I'd of snapped a pic before putting him back! Surface water temps ranged from 55-61 and the water was fairly clear for all the rain we've had. It was beautiful day on the water and it was good to finally fish with you, Doug. I did have a little excitement on the drive over and back; going over I took the Bloomfield route only to find the road closed over in eastern Greene and got detoured down to Bedford because of I-69 construction. On the way home I took the Spencer route and had a little flooding to deal with. This is no lie....I think I ran over a carp! If I'd of left the camera running another 30 seconds it would have been on video.

I'm guessing they sent you down 54, but were you not able to go back north on 45 to Eastern Heights?
