Well, I didn't have much luck finding "fatboy ice" today. Started at the Kickapoo boat rental docks and the ice is not good there, in fact, there's still some open water... Went ahead and drilled a hole through the 1" ice off the dock, it was 21' deep and I was fishing near the bottom, it wasn't long until I marked a fish at 15', reeled the bee moth tipped G&G Icer Glow Jig up to the mark and it was fish on! My first of 2013 and I'm super happy it was on a G&G. Thanks George! I let it go and walked over to the Shakamak Lake docks and the ice was a little better there; about 2.5 inches. A couple guys were fishing the pool parking lot neck and a couple more walked across the lake to the north neck. I decided to wait another day. Checked Lenape on the way out and it had 2 inches. With temps hitting the mid-forties next week, this weekend might be it for a while.

Looks like a decent gill and a nice way to start the year.
