I hooked into this one on Monday. It was a pretty awesome fight. I can see why people like going after catfish so much.

NICE! wish I could hook into one of those. I have not had much luck catfishing this year. It wasn't on purpose by any means. I had a bluegill on a hook under a bobber and it had been out for a while. I was throwing a Rapala when I noticed the pole with the bluegill was being dragged into the water. I grabbed the pole, set the hook and the fight was on. It took me about five minutes to get the fish to where my f-i-l could get the net on it.

Goose you might tie those poles down. did you get a measurement on it? Not quite twenty-seven inches and around ten pounds.

Nice one. I've had pretty good luck this year but was fishing deeper holes from the low rivers and creeks I was hoping to hook up with a big bass. It was thought that most/all of the catfish were gone from the pond, but my f-i-l caught one last fall that was around eighteen pounds and then I caught one on Monday. I would have to imagine there might be a few more swimming around in there somewhere.

Very nice catch man. I love catfishing just for that reason, they put up such a great fight. Especially if you have a little current involved.
