Awesome fish man. Where at in Ohio? I've been targeting a grass carp of similar size in Medina County.
How did you catch it?

Im in Allen county close to indiana side. Lima area. If you study these fish they love to come up get a gulp of air. What I did is used a float rig and spray painted the float to match alge. Just under it I used a peanut. It works when the water gets warm. Get a hair rig and becarful make a hole threw the peanut. Get these bait stops to keep it on the hair rig. 15lb low vision line. 8ft rod and 6800 series reel. Just keep throwing it in there face but be stealthy they are skiddish. If you hook into one becarefull cause when you think you have it at the net. They will run once again. I sight fish when carp fishing. If not I break out my homade carp bait I use and its dynamite.

Any chance you can share you homemade bait? I have hooked the one I'm after before on a peanut butter and flour mixture that I came up with. Haven't been able to land it yet.

Nice. I need to figure out a way to get a few of those out of my grandma's pond. I think they have become fat and sassy as there is a lot of algae and such on top of the water these days.

Thanks guys. Took awhile to get felt good to have a fish wear you out. I'm sorry brain I would tell ya but at a later date. It works too good. A guy from the UK told me the recipe and I love it too much to go telling everyone yet. I might talk harsh but you can make good bait from commercial bait like k-1 baits which is probably the one rated in the U.S.

Could you maybe private message me the recipe? I live pretty far away from you and can guarantee that I'm not gonna come and try to catch carp in your area with your recipe. I can understand not giving your recipe to other guys that fish in the same waters as you, but I just want to catch one carp in a local pond I have permission to fish on.
