Lookin' good, Jon! Looks like a lot of diggin' went on there. Dad did more digging at our pond too. He put some hours on that little John Deere this summer. Here's a couple pics I took a while back....the water is even higher now.

Man, I'm thinking a single stick of dynamite strategically placed could open that sucker right up.

How much more do you plan on expanding

Me, my brother and my boys spent the day building our dock, now we are just waiting for it to fill up. Will probably take all winter, we are about 3' low right now.

Looks like the expansion is full. You could probably take a shovel and dig a trench from the old to the new. Once the water started flowing into the old pond, the moving water would help dig the trench a little deeper and wider connecting them. That would also give you a great place to fish in that cut. Also with the trench you would not have to worry about the water going down in the future and trapping fish in the expansion and dying.

Looks great Jon! Doesn't even look like the same pond. Ours is probably a good 3' low too. I figure it will take a wet spring to fill it back up....the rain lately has down nothing to raise the water level. That's exactly what dad did. He dug three trenches connecting the expansion and the pond.

I was looking at pics last night on the camera and found this one from March of this year. This is what the pond usually looks like.....with water all the way around the dock... ...and this what it looks like now. I think the pond is even lower than we realized.

I find it odd that with all the rain we've had lately that a lot of ponds aren't filling up again.

Mine is still a little low also, but not as low.as yours Troy. My main issue is all the duck weed that seems to love it on our pond. I guess the drought has really done a number on alot of peoples ponds and fish this year. I have been out to the house a few times this summer to check on progress and found some nice ones floatin. Hopefully next year wont be so rough...

I find it odd that with all the rain we've had lately that a lot of ponds aren't filling up again. Maybe it's because we're really not getting that much rain? Take today for instance....looked like a scary line of storms coming....it hits Sullivan/Greene counties and breaks apart and all we get are a few sprinkles!

I noticed a lot of ponds seem to be getting back to a normal level. It's good to see the BB&B pond is one of those.
