Went back to the Kickapoo dock this afternoon. I caught one decent gill and that was the only bite. I did get to meet jrobins and his wife and got to check out his new Marcum Showdown Troller. I might just have to get one of these, may just be the ticket for someone like me who doesn't get to ice fish that much and doesn't want to break the bank. Booey and Catfishsam went with us and seemed more interested in snowball fights than fishing. hey if you plan on icefishin tomorrow i found some fishable ice on shakamak lake not far from the boat ramp the ice was about 6 1/2 inches or better we plan on gettn out there before 9 so if you feel like fishn give me a holler

Went back to the park this morning. Was hoping to spud my way out to my honey hole on Shakamak Lake but it just wasn't gonna happen, still just a couple inches there. Ended up back on Kickapoo and couldn't catch a fish. Had a few bites and that was it. We're expecting near 40 temps and rain tonight and that's not gonna help a bit. Our pond is just now making some good ice and it's probably gonna be gone if we get much rain.

Unbelievable! Not looking good for getting together next Monday is it? It's raining here too. But it won't hardly affect our 8" of ice. It'll probably get the 6" of snow off the ice and produce an extra 2" of ice.

I checked the pond this evening and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Pretty rotten around the edge, but at least there's still ice. It's gonna be COLD the next couple nights, so maybe things will get locked up.

Pretty rotten around the edge, I've been watchin mine too. It is about the same as how you describe yours. Except, i have a shallow side with a point off it, I think if i were to go out on that point, it would be thick enough. I'm just gettin some "REASSURANCE" by lettin these next few cold nights go by.

Well, I'm gonna take my ice gear with me to Indy this weekend. If things go really well with my flooring installation and I can complete it by noon Sunday I could be coming there on Sunday afternoon. I've already requested Monday off work so I'm planning on heading to Jasonville for sure really early Monday morning. If I do come on Sunday afternoon I'll plan on staying in Linton or something. I've got a couple spots I want to hit since I still need to pay up on my lost bet from March Madness last year

I will try to get out and check the ice here tomorrow for ya. If by chance there's nowhere else to go, maybe it will be fishable here. let me know if you are interested.

If that doesn't make ice you'll never have any I'm shivering just thinking about it. But, I'd still be fishing if I didn't have to work I think we'll be fishing on Sunday or Monday!!!!!! Hip-hip-hooray

Went out today to check the Ice, and ACTUALLY GOT TO FISH!! I did'nt go out real far, only about 25-30 yards from the bank, but that far out, I still had a SOLID 5 inches of ice. I did'nt really want to go out far without checking the other side first( since it usually takes longer to freeze) so I walked the bank line and drilled a few holes on the opposite side of the pond. Again another 5 inches. I believe that the center is solid enough too. I did'nt catch anything, only got to fish a few minutes, Me and the misses gotta go to town and get diapers. maybe tomorrow!!

We just got back from drilling a few holes at Shakamak. Kickapoo had 4 inches, Shakamak 3 inches, and Lenape 3.5 inches. I didn't get real far out on Lenape, it just didn't look safe. There's a big pressure crack running from the boat ramp all the way across the lake. It looks like a lot of water has come out of that crack and re-froze.

what about those pits behind your house troy? A few on the map look like they would be deep enough for some good fish. Or are they still open? If not, you could probably go out there.
