Vinny, Terre Haute GM carries ice gear all year. Once the hard water hits, Get ahold of me, and we will get out and try for a few. I would be careful about going at your Bass spot. Some Complexes and private lakes will allow fishing in the summer no problem, but dont want to allow ice fishing for fear of someone falling through. Let me know if you need a place.

This is my favorite form of fishing. I keep telling Kim that we need to move farther north so we can do more of it, but she ain't buying it. I hope we have ice this year, we're on a pretty good streak of having it here in southern Indiana. I'm hoping to go up north and fishing a couple of the Indiana Angler ice tournaments. I'll post the times and places when they're set in stone. Maybe we can have a BB&B ice gathering around here?? Shakamak's pretty good, or I'd be willing to travel if anyone knows a good place. You never know how the ice is gonna be around here, so we'll have to play it by ear. Just be careful Vinny, it's very addicting!

Well, Since were ALREADY on the subject, I guess i can go ahead and show off my new secret weapons. I was GONNA wait till we atleast got some cold weather to show these, but here they are. I picked these Jigs up off a site a month or two ago. They are pretty nice, allthough my camera does them no justice. I will go ahead and throw the link in here for those of you guys who are interested. The site is www.jamminjigs.com/ I bought one of the 40 PIECE GRAB BAGS, from the Closeout Section. Think i paid like $12 for them!!! And I Believe I ACTUALLY got like 43 or some odd pieces! These Jigs are VERY NICE!! Many of them Also Glow VERY BRIGHT! these are not "uncle bobs PAPER CLIPS AND DUCT TAPE" jigs. If you guys got a few bucks to spare, BUY SOME!! What's the worst that can happen? You Catch MORE fish?? Another tip: Need somewhere to neatly and orderly keep your jigs? Buy a FLY BOX! they work GREAT! I Reccomend one like this, small or Med. sized. www.amazon.com/Small-Fly-Hinged-Waterproof-Seal/dp/B003EGEFFS/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1287189507&sr=8-7

Like everybody said, ice fishing is very addicting. Flashers are very handy. I won't leave home without it. The big advantage with flashers is fishing deeper water were the fish may be suspended. There are many different choices in flashers: Vexilar, Marcum, Hummingbird, Lowrance and some off brands. Since your a first timer, I suggest going out with someone that has been before. A spud bar is very handy too. I won't go any farther on less than two solid hits before it breaks threw. Watch out for springs too. Have fun and be safe!
