I finally made it out on the ice this weekend! Fishing was pretty slow but managed enough for a couple meals! On Sat. I managed to catch five species, gills, crappie, bass, perch, and pike. Ice was 3.5-5 inches on the lake I was on.

Congrats Kyle! It's gonna be a while yet for us southern boys; there was still some open water on our pond today.

our pond has capped over and thawed out half a dozen times allready. this morning it was flowing, but by noon HALF the pond was frozen with some snow flakes on top. if the weather keeps up, i'll be out there in no time.

How's your pond looking anthony? Ours just has a skim on it as of yesterday. We live on a hill, so it's not real quick to freeze up. The lakes at Shakamak usually have good ice by the time our pond does. I may run by the park today to check it out.

Our pond has been completely frozen for bout a week now. with this weather, it usually dont take too long for the ice to thicken up. I'm gonna go out tomorrow, and check the thickness, and do a lil fishing if i can. i'll post some pix if i can tomorrow. p.s. the offer stands, you and the boys are welcome to come fish whenever you want to make the drive.

Let us know how the ice is, anthony. I got the itch real bad to do some fishin!!! ps. I'm one of them "little guys" that need at least a few inches.

I myself feel safe as long as it's around 3 inches. most of the time i tie off to a stump and wear a life jacket anyways. my ponds not that deep, bout 18 feet in the deepest so im pretty comfortable with it being a little thin. if im going somewhere else, its a diffrent story.

hey fellas, cant stay long, gotta fuel pump to change. just wanted to stop in and let everyone know that over here the ice is thick enough to fish on. so if you guys got personal ponds like i do or troy and booey and chase, then get out there and start drillin. GOOD LUCK!
