I hadn't heard from my buddy Rick in a long time and then he called out of the blue last night to invite me up for crawdads tonight....55 pounds of them!

Finally went out and caught some Hoosier crawfish to eat. They weren't bad at all! Just wish we could have caught more of the bigger ones.

You should set some craw traps up there.

That's cool. I was surprised to see they turned red.
Any smallies in that creek?

Like I said on my facebook post...This has got to be on the menu on my next visit! You have me thinking about making some traps and putting them out to bag some of these little devils.

I saw a crawdad in one of the local creeks a couple weeks back that was about as long as my hand. It was easily the biggest daddy I've seen around here.

I thought the taste of the Indiana mudbugs was the same as the ones that come from Louisiana, but the meat was harder to get out of the tail. My thumb and fingers are a little sliced up from digging the meat out and the ones from down south I can just pull the meat out with my teeth.

Does a person need a license to harvest crawdads? I have my license but I'm just curious

That's a good question. I'd ask the CO on Woody's site.
