Hit the woods here in NW Greene County this morning. Looks like we're behind where we were at this point last year as far as things "greening up." Maybe it's because of having a colder than normal winter and it's taking longer for the ground to warm? There was some mayapples up, looks like these came up before the below freezing temps earlier this week, they were a little frost bit. I chased an ol' hen turkey out of my spot, she had things pretty scratched up. I finally found one shroom peeking up through the leaves, looked like it had just popped up. The high winds are really drying out the woods. I don't think there's much point in looking again until after Saturday's thunder storms.

We've still got a ways to go way up here in Mi. The may apples haven't started yet . I have heard that some small ones have been found though .
